More News on Coach Hudgens

Good news from Greg Hudgens, husband of Coach Lauren Hudgens:

Praise the Lord! We had a healthy baby girl this evening. She is tiny (3 pounds, 1 ounce) but she is doing just great. Lauren was induced early this morning but nothing was happening so we went ahead and did a C-Section. The baby was born at 5:29 PM and she is already off of oxygen and breathing on her own. Healthy heart, lungs, kidneys, etc. We are so excited to welcome Reese into the world!

Follow-up Message from Coach Hudgens

We spoke with the doctor today and they are going to induce me tomorrow morning (Sunday). I have become preclamptic (?) where my blood pressure and few other things are prohibiting her from gaining weight like she should. I am doing ok and so is Reese. I am 36 weeks and she has developed all her organs and the only real problem with her is her low birth weight. Right now, I am the one who is causing the problem. GO figure. She has a good heart beat and a good report from the ultrasound. So, hopefully by tomorrow night we will have the newest addition to the Bearcat family. Greg will be sending out an email letting everyone know when she is here. Reese will have to stay in the NICU for a little while to help her gain weight and observation but this is the best option for us at this time. Thanks for all your prayers and remember conditioning on Monday!!!!!!
Thanks for the support!
Coach

Message from B-C Girls Coach Lauren Hudgens

A message from Coach Lauren Hudgens to the girls' soccer team concerning her pregnancy:

Hello team!
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and enjoyed some time with your family. I had a nice Thanksgiving but it was not what I was expecting to do! I had a regular doctor's appointment on Wednesday of this week and during this appointment they noticed that this little girl is a little small. Therefore, the doctors sent me over to Richland Memorial and I have been here since. I am doing fine. The baby is doing fine. Right now I am 34.4 weeks along. She is only 3 pounds right now and the doctors would like for her to be bigger. They have been running test and monitoring me but are not sure what the plan is as of yet. They would like for me to get to 36-37 weeks before I deliver but if they need to go ahead and take her she is developed enough to survive outside the womb. But more than likely I will have a baby sometime before the middle of December. I am on bedrest and will have to stay in the hospital for now. I just wanted to get an email out to everyone to inform you all of what is going on. I have my cell phone up here so if you have any questions give me a call. Coach Smith and Katie will continue to run conditioning Monday through Thursday at NMS until Christmas break. Any prayers would be appreciated as it's up to the Lord and thankfully in His hands. I will also be able to correspond by email at times. If you see anyone's name that I don't have please forward this to them! Have a great weekend and I hope to see you all real soon!

2005 Alum Hamson Serving in Iraq

With Veterans Day fresh in our minds, I just wanted to update all Bearcat Soccer supporters to keep 2005 graduate Andrew Hamson in your thoughts and prayers as he serves a 15-month deployment in Iraq. Andrew is crewing UH-60 Blackhawks and really likes the flying although they are currently working 14-hour days and generally fly seven of those operative hours. Andrew sent a very touching email that I will soon share with our Advanced Soccer Class.

Also, former Bearcat soccer assistant coach
Ashley Hartin is still on active duty in Iraq as is 2001 alum Sean Cason. Please keep these Bearcats in your thoughts and prayers!
