The Booster Club has been instrumental in providing thousands of dollars in support of all our student-athletes. In the past several years, the Booster Club has provided a meal for all of our student-athletes and parents at the beginning of each sports season. Our Booster Club has enabled our fall, winter and spring sports teams to excel and have the necessary funding to compete beyond the district level. Like all programs similar to this, we continue to feel the budget crunch.

We are thankful for the continued support from people like you, who give generously for such a worthy cause. Your contribution is greatly appreciated and will allow us to provide additional support for our fine student-athletes. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join us while enjoying an evening of food, fellowship and our Hall of Fame Induction ceremony. Mark your calendars and plan to attend.

Week #12 Recap

Cayce, SC -- Class 3A #10 Brookland-Cayce entered the week with an overall record of 8-9-2, but consecutive victories over Region 4-3A opponents Strom Thurmond (12-0) and arch-rival Airport (2-0) pushed the Bearcats over the .500 mark and into sole possession of second place in the region. B-C will face region foes Swansea (2-10) and #8 Chapin (11-6) at The Cage in Week #13 for a shot at the region title.

The victory over Airport pushed the Bearcats career record to 44-11-4 against their Lexington Two rivals and 23-1 under Coach Heise since 1991. In fact, B-C has only lost one game to the Eagles since 1987 and have posted a 28-1-1 mark over the last two decades. The Class of 2007 finished 5-0 against the Eagles.

Scoring for the Bearcats against Airport were senior Peter Koutrakos (26') and junior Tim Duzan (56'). Senior goalkeeper JC Gypin recorded the shutout.

Chapin, SC - Chapin took control of Region 4-3A with a 1-0 overtime goal from freshman Joey Demare to edge the Bearcats on Tuesday night. The two team battled to a scoreless match through regulation and the first five minute overtime period, but in the second stanza, Brookland-Cayce fouled Chapin deep in Eagle territory and the ensuing free-kick found junior Haze Weinspach past midfield and he turned and put Demare in behind the Bearcats defense to deliver the game-winner. The two teams will meet again at The Cage on Friday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m.
