Gilbert Summer Soccer Shootout Canceled for B-C

B-C Soccer Player:

I regret to inform you that we will have to withdraw from the Gilbert Soccer Summer Shootout due to non-confirmations for the competitions this week. I have only heard from four players that were truly eligible for Monday. I have informed Coach Darlington at Gilbert that we are withdrawing from the week's competitions. I hate to do so, but when it's 11v11 and two matches in a night, we really needed to have 15+ confirmed and ready to go. WE WILL NOT HAVE ANY TRAINING OR GAMES THIS WEEK AS A RESULT.

I'm just returning from the Clash of the Carolinas and congratulations to 2010 graduates Chris Duzan (Team Captain) and Taylor Lewis (1 goal) who both played key roles in winning the all-star game for the first time for S.C.

Bearcats Star in SC Boys First Clash Victory

Congratulations to Coach Kevin Heise and Bearcat boys soccer players Chris Duzan and Taylor Lewis who helped lead the Sandlappers to their first win in the Clash of the Carolinas all-star match against North Carolina July 9 at Blackbaud Stadium on Daniel Island.

Duzan was selected as a Team Captain by his S.C. teammates and Lewis netted the Sandlappers first goal in the 3-2 victory. Duzan tallied six saves on the day, while Lewis played a very good match.

Summer Soccer Update

B-C Soccer Player:

Reminder of Plex game this afternoon at 5:20 pm. We forfeited last week due to no one showing up. I know some of this was in part to Lundy Camp, but not for a roster of 14. Make this a priority. We paid $550 to play. Get your carpools lined up in advance. If you get a ride, help them with the gas $.

Each player must wear soccer gear, including shinguards. Black shorts, pennies will be provided. Also, each player must bring $5 each night to pay for officials. Matches are 40 minutes in length. Each player is responsible for their own transportation to and from GHS.

Good luck to Chris Duzan, Taylor Lewis, and Coach Heise as they represent B-C in the 4th Annual Clash of the Carolinas this Friday, July 9 at Blackbaud Stadium on Daniel Island at 3:30 pm. We hope that some of you can attend and support these players in their final prep competition.
