Lady Bearcats Recognized in Miss Bearcat Pageant

Congratulations to Lady Bearcat soccer players Kimberly Baston and Sarah Johnson for being recognized in the Miss Bearcat Pageant on Monday, January 25th at BCHS.

Kimmy was named Miss Senior, while Sarah was honored as the 2010 Miss Bearcat!

Maroon & Black Intrasquad Games and Parents Meetings

From Robin Gerzema, Maroon & Black Chair:

Welcome to 2010 soccer season! Well, almost ... Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Robin Gerzema, the mother of Whitney and Emily Salonich (BCGJV/V 2009) and will also be "tackling" the Maroon and Black planning. That is why you are receiving this email. Your son/daughter was involved in the program last year. If your child is no longer involved then please disregard this note and have a great day! If they are still involved then this is for you! Also, if you are aware of a parent that may not have received this note, please share as I am working off an old list.

I am in need of volunteers to aid in setting-up/breaking down, serving, grilling, etc for Maroon and Black. This year it is slated to be on Saturday, February 6th. If you are able to assist in this endeavor in ANY aspect please contact me by Tuesday, January 26th. I am looking at a planning meeting to be held next Wednesday, January 27 at 6pm in Coach Heise's room at BCHS.
I have also set up a Maroon & Black Wiki located here: http://maroonandblack.wikispaces.com/ If you are unable to attend the meeting and are familiar with Maroon and Black then do not hesitate to request to join the wiki and add your name under the item you are bringing and where you are able to assist.

Heise Named All-Star Game Coach

Congratulations to Coach Kevin Heise for being named as co-coach of the South Carolina boys all-star team for the 4th Annual Clash of the Carolinas. Heise will team with Hilton Head Island coach Wayne Quinlan in directing the Sandlappers.

The Clash of the Carolinas pits 18 of the best players from the Palmetto State against their Tar Heel counterparts at Blackbaud Stadium on Daniel Island, July 10th. The series is tied at 0-0-3.

Heise has previously coached in the North-South Soccer Classic on three occasions - 1997, 2002, and 2006.
