NSCAA Awards 2008

Congratulations to the Bearcat Soccer program for having one of only seven schools in South Carolina to have both the boys and girls varsity teams' qualify for the prestigious 2007-2008 NSCAA Team Academic Award. The Palmetto State programs to earn this achievement are:

Salonich Tabbed for S.C. ODP Team

Congratulations to Lady Bearcat Soccer player Whitney Salonich who was selected to participate with the S.C. 1993 Olympic Development Team under the direction of Newberry head coach Karrie Miller. Whitney will attend the Sub-Regional Tournament in Gainesville, GA January 9-11, 2009.

Kaminer Selected to ODP Sub-Regionals

Congratulations to Lady Bearcat Soccer player Kelsey Kaminer who was selected to participate with the S.C. 1992 Olympic Development Team under the direction of USC-Aiken head coach Sue Vodicka. Kelsey will attend the Sub-Regional Tournament in Gainesville, GA January 9-11, 2009.

The Plex Indoor Soccer HS Schedule

The first match for the Cayce Black in the Plex Indoor HS League will be Tuesday, November 18 at 5:40 p.m.

Players should wear black t-shirts, black shorts, and black socks and be at The Plex by 5:00 p.m. The schedule is yet to be completed, but when it is finished, it will be available at this link - http://ezleagues.ezfacility.com/teams/369821/Cayce-Black.aspx.

All players rostered to play on the Cayce Black team should come by Coach Heise's room to sign the team waiver sheet and get an individual waiver sheet to be signed by a parent/guardian. These are due to The Plex on Tuesday before game time. Players are responsible for their own transportation to and from The Plex.

Congaree Rapid U18 SKY90 Team Captures State Title

Congratulations to the Congaree Rapid SKY90 U18 team coached by B-C Varsity Assistant Coach David Schroer. Five Bearcats play for the CRSA team - Chris Duzan, Manuel Guerra, Adam Keller, Taylor Lewis, and Greg Stone. The team posted a 4-0 in the state tourney allowing just one goal against and defeated the FSCG Strikers 5-1 in the championship match!

Setzler Named to Second Team All-Region X Squad

USC-Sumter freshman Robby Setzler was named Second Team All-Region for NJCAA Region X. Setzler was instrumental in the establishment of the Fire Ants inaugural team this fall. Congratulations to Robby on this outstanding achievement!
