Bearcats Outclaw Wolverines

Cayce, SC -- Class 3A #10 Brookland-Cayce overcame a lethargic first half hour of play versus the Walker School of Marietta, GA to produce two late first half goals to kickstart a Bearcats rally Saturday afternoon at The Cage. The Walker School entered the match ranked #6 in Class 2A/1A in the Peach State. B-C fell behind just 2:29 into the match as an unorganized defense allowed an easy Wolverine goal and put the Bearcats in the hole early in the game. The Bearcats answered in the 36th minute as senior Carlos Harris netted a goal off a flip throw-in. In the 40th minute, B-C took the lead on another long throw-in from senior Peter Koutrakos, as junior Robby Setzler connected on a head-flick from sophomore Adam Keller to give the Bearcats an improbable 2-1 halftime advantage. In the second stanza, B-C struck early as junior Jose Guzman followed up a bobbled ball by the Wolverines goalkeeper for the final margin.
